I’ve always been drawn to the real thing. Before anyone was paying attention, I was photographing retired racing greyhounds, women living with MS, and a jazz club in Buffalo with roots in the Underground Railroad. Those early documentary projects were unglamorous, unhurried, and deeply human — and they became the blueprint for everything that followed.
That instinct for authenticity eventually led me into advertising. Saatchi & Saatchi New York called with a campaign for Iams Pet Foods, and suddenly the same sensibility that had me sitting quietly with subjects and waiting for something honest to unfold was shaping work for global brands.
Today, my work lives at the intersection of art and advertising, blending stills and motion to create imagery that feels cinematic, emotional, and lived in. I often describe myself as “a motion storyteller with a still-life soul.” Whether I’m building a conceptual lifestyle campaign or capturing a fleeting, unscripted interaction, my goal is always the same: to create work that connects through feeling rather than performance.
For more than twenty years, I’ve moved between my homes in Buffalo and Brooklyn, shooting across pharma, healthcare, consumer, and editorial spaces, while continuing to take on personal and pro bono projects that matter deeply to me and to underserved communities. No matter the scale of the production, the work still comes from the same place it always has — a belief that what’s true is far more compelling than what’s polished.
I’ve photographed everywhere from Brazil to China, Africa to the Arctic Circle, but some of my favorite work is still made close to home. Collaboration, curiosity, friendship, family, movement, travel, dogs, snowboarding, sailing, yoga, red wine, loud laughter, and quiet moments all shape the way I see the world — and ultimately, the way I photograph it.
